Greetings,
The Links Incorporated is a national organization of more than 10,000 women of color, committed to friendship and
service. Our San Jose Chapter has a membership of more than thirty members, who in the past year, contributed more
than 3,000 hours of community service.
The focal point of our service is to provide opportunities for the youth of our community to both achieve and succeed.
• Specifically, through our Alice E. Foster Scholarship Program, we offer scholarships for students that
have exited the Foster Care System and are continuing on to college or vocational training.
• Last year, we established the Links to Literacy program to tutor elementary students.
• This year we made a L.I.F.E. Program Presentation to high school students to promote international
perspectives, and global opportunities.
• Additionally, we continue to sponsor an annual Spring Recital to support youth via the performing arts.
• We collaborate with the Santa Clara County Alliance of Black Educators for the annual Student Awards
Program.
You will find additional examples of our community service and community collaboration as you browse our web site.
It is our goal to continue to build our commitment and dedication to the youth of Silicon Valley, as we provide
opportunities for their growth and success, through our community service.
Regards,
Katranker Thompson, President
